[Work content and job description]
The appointed associate professor will focus on promoting research that, with respect to heavy rainfall causing floods, predicts its future changes under climate change, clarifies its initiation and development mechanisms, and elevates these findings into socially implementable disaster prevention and mitigation technologies for flood control. Furthermore, the appointed associate professor is expected to expand research that contributes to creating new heavy rainfall disaster risk information by elucidating the disaster process from torrential rain to flooding from both random and inevitable aspects. As part of Kyoto University promotion of gender equality, this position is only open to female applicants. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for educating students in the Department of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. A Ph.D. or an equivalent degree is required, and the candidate is expected to use Japanese on a daily basis.

Annual salary: 6 million yen
Wages description: Salary and Allowance: To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations.
Working hours: 08:30-17:15
Break time: 12:00-13:00
Holidays: Days off: Saturdays, Sundays, Statutory holidays under the Act on National Holidays, Year-end and New Year's holidays, and Anniversary of Foundation of the University.
Overtime and other explanations: Discretionary labor system (standard working hours: 7 hours 45 minutes per day, 38 hours 45 minutes per week). If the discretionary labor system is not chosen, the working hours are from 8:30 to 17:15 with a break between 12:00 to 13:00. Overtime may be ordered.
