Job Summary
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a world-class medical destination at the forefront of transformative science, medicine, education and patient care. The Division of Hematology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a full-time Associate Professor/Professor to lead the classical hematology section and is seeking a Board certified or board eligible hematologist for this purpose.
The new faculty member would be expected to participate in clinical and translational research related to hematology, and to engage in training of medical residents, fellows, and others associated with the Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Ambulatory-based patient care, caring for patients with hematologic pathologic conditions
- Lead a group of faculty members dedicated to classical hematology
- Partner with Hospital and School of Medicine partners to build a hematology program
- Supervising nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, fellows, residents, and medical students as needed
- Carrying out a research program
- Participating in and leading outreach activities, including outreach clinics outside the CU-Anschutz campus, educational events for patients and their families, camps for patients, work with patient advocacy groups, and other similar initiatives
Work Location
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite full time, in various sites on the Anschutz Medical Campus located in Aurora, CO.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree. Board Certified in Hematology. Eligible for Colorado state medical license. Experience in treating patients with classical hematological disorders. Able to obtain credentials and privileges at the University of Colorado Hospital and with CU Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience. Established research program. Experience with regulatory and quality improvement activities.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
