Associate Program Director
ASSOCIATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION
The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University - Downers Grove Campus invites applications for a full-time Associate Program Director and Tenure-Track Academic Faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) graduate program. The Associate Program Director reports directly to the Program Director. This is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment. Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide leadership for a distance education program mirroring the curriculum of the in-person program.
- Prepare all accreditation documents for submission, as needed, for the distance education program.
- Oversee the development of the courses, the quality of the delivery, and all assessments.
- Work closely with the program director to ensure all resources are available for development.
- Provide insight into the program’s marketing and admissions processes.
- Determine staffing and hiring needs.
- Support student success throughout the online program by embedding resources and services.
- Collaborate with the director(s) of clinical education on establishing clinical rotations.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning up to eight credit hours in-person in the first year. Graduate-level teaching experience in pediatric communication or swallowing disorders is preferred. Delivery of high-quality teaching and learning to online courses, when available.
- Engage in scholarship and maintain the program’s research agenda. Research start-up funding is available, and faculty research lines may be supported by intramural funding.
- Engage as an active member of the SLP program, providing service to the program and university.
- Faculty responsibilities at Midwestern University include teaching, scholarship, and service. Service for academic faculty may include clinical supervision at the university clinic (up to 0.05 FTE).
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a degree in speech-language pathology, speech-language and hearing sciences, communication sciences and disorders or a related discipline (Ph.D. preferred).
- Certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP) is required.
- Current Illinois licensure or eligibility for Illinois licensure as a speech-language pathologist is required.
- Candidates must have experience in developing and teaching online courses. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in teaching and ongoing engagement in scholarship.
Compensation:
The salary is commensurate with experience. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. Faculty development is supported.
