Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs
Position Summary
*This position is only open to tenured full Professors at UGA*
The Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs (APFA) directs UGA’s Office of Faculty Affairs, which handles all faculty-related records and policies related to appointments, contracts, promotion, tenure, instructor credentials, and faculty activities and productivity. This role reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and works closely with the Provost, Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer, Office of Legal Affairs, deans, department heads, and other administrators on faculty appointments, promotion and tenure, personnel matters, and faculty governance to ensure implementation and execution of all faculty-related policies. The role also oversees a comprehensive suite of faculty and academic leadership development programming. This individual is a key member of the Provost’s Office team and of the University Cabinet.
