Associate Research Scientist
The Department of Anesthesiology seeks an Associate Research Scientist with experience in neuroscience and/or neuroanesthesia to investigate EEG-guided analgesic titration to improve early neurocognitive recovering in older patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Associate Research Scientist will
- Independently design, execute and analyze complex research studies
- Contribute to the development of new research hypotheses and experimental approaches within the lab’s focus area of neuroanesthesia and cognition
- Maintain detailed and accurate records and data
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact scientific journals, including data analysis, writing, and editing.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences and seminars.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications to secure funding for research projects.
- Collaborate with other researchers within the laboratory and across disciplines to facilitate research progress.
- Mentor and train graduate students, technicians, and other junior lab members on experimental techniques and research protocols.
- Actively participate in lab meetings, journal clubs, and scientific discussions.
- PhD in biological science, neuroscience, neurology or other related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present research findings at conferences and in scientific manuscripts
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skill
