Brief Summary of Work for this Position:

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Health and Wellbeing is a direct report to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. The Associate Vice Chancellor is part of the Senior Leadership Team for the division and works closely with other leaders to achieve strategic divisional and institutional goals. The position may act as the senior divisional executive leader in the absence of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Health and Wellbeing provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive portfolio of departments dedicated to supporting students' physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. The portfolio of departments each play a vital role in fostering a healthy, inclusive, and supportive campus environment. The Associate Vice Chancellor ensures a holistic and coordinated approach to student wellbeing that enhances access, removes barriers, and promotes student success. The position also plays a critical role in crisis response, compliance with health and accessibility regulations, and campus-wide initiatives related to prevention, wellness education, and public health.

The units that comprise Student Health and Wellbeing include Campus Recreation, CARE, the Disability Resource Center, the Student Health Center, and the Counseling Center. These areas form a comprehensive network of support to address physical, emotional, and mental health needs while ensuring equitable access to resources and services. By integrating these critical functions, the university creates a holistic and coordinated approach to student wellbeing removing barriers, streamlining support, and empowering students to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Health, Counseling, Social Work, Health Administration, Disability Services, or a closely related field.

• At least 8 years of professional related experience.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience supervising staff and interdisciplinary teams, managing budgets and programming.

• Familiarity with federal and state laws related to ADA/Section 504, HIPPA, FERPA, and mental health standards.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Psychology, Counseling, Higher Education or related field.

• More than 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student affairs, health and wellness services, counseling, disability services, or a related area within higher education or a comparable setting.
