The Center for Student Success advances the University's mission by providing comprehensive academic advising, academic support services, transition programming, and student success initiatives designed to promote student persistence, academic achievement, retention, and degree completion for all learners.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success serves as the senior academic affairs leader responsible for institutional student success strategy, assessment, academic support services, and coordinated student success initiatives. Reporting to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice Chancellor provides vision, leadership, and direction for university-wide efforts to improve retention, persistence, academic achievement, and degree completion for all learners.

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success will provide strategic leadership for campus-wide student success initiatives and integrated academic support services that support students from admission through graduation. The position's primary focus is on advancing student success through data-informed decision making, coordinated advising and support services, evidence-based interventions, and high-impact educational practices.
Strategic Leadership, Assessment, and Student Success Analytics - 35%
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction for campus-wide student success programs and initiatives that promote persistence, achievement, retention, and degree completion.
- Lead institutional efforts related to the collection, tracking, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of student success data and metrics.
Administrative Leadership and Personnel Supervision - 30%
- Provide executive leadership and administrative oversight for the Center for Student Success and its programs and services.
- Directly supervise leadership personnel within the unit, including the Director of Academic Advising, Director of Academic Engagement, Director of Transfer Transitions, and Director of TRIO Programs.
Student Success Programs and Academic Support Services - 25%
- Oversee comprehensive academic advising services for first- and second-year students, transfer students, readmitted students, and academically at-risk students.
- Provide leadership for tutoring services, Supplemental Instruction, peer academic support initiatives, and academic engagement programming.
Institutional Collaboration and University Service - 10%
- Work collaboratively with Deans, department chairs, faculty, staff, and university leadership to advance institutional student success goals.
- Participate in university committees, strategic planning initiatives, accreditation activities, and divisional projects related to student success and academic affairs.
Management Preference: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success leading comprehensive student success initiatives in higher education. Experience with predictive analytics, early alert systems, CRM/advising technologies or student success platforms. Experience leading or managing federally funded TRIO or grant-funded student support programs. Experience securing external funding, grants or partnerships to support student success initiatives.
