Asst AD, Facilities, Ops, and Equipment
Position Summary
Responsible for providing leadership of the day-to-day facilities, game and equipment room operations for Stetson University's Division I intercollegiate athletics program. Oversees the purchasing and inventory of all athletic equipment for 18 Stetson programs and apparel contracts. Maintains relationships with vendors. Oversees laundry room operations, locker-room and building maintenance of Stetson Athletic Facilities. Direct supervision of Director of Facilities/Events Operations, Director of Equipment &Facilities- Olympic Sports, Director of Equipment &Facilities-Football and student staff
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversees Event Management and Facility improvement and upkeep
- Ensures compliance with all Federal, NCAA, Conference and University regulations, creating and managing departmental resources in a fiscally responsible manner, and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels
- Maintains strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills while managing a large portfolio of facilities
- Oversees budgets for equipment room, athletics facilities & events and student employment
- Coordinates, implements and supervises game day operations for facilities of Stetson Intercollegiate Athletics, including set up and break down, which includes, but is not limited to, venue preparation for practice and competition, supervising and instructing workers
- Supervise scheduling of activities (practices, games) for Stetson's athletic facilities
- Supervise the maintenance, function and improvement of Stetson's athletic facilities. Includes maintaining all buildings and fields, with the assistance of our facilities and grounds staff, coordinating the replacement or repair of all parts that are broken down, and enhancing facilities where capable and appropriate
- Supervise the use of Stetson's athletic facilities by outside groups and our recreation staff looking to utilize the facilities in a limited manner. This also entails working with our Boundless Learning staff, which is responsible for our non-athletic summer camps
- Serve as subject matter expert for university apparel contract. Tracks all orders and stays up to date on current technological advances in footwear and apparel
- Provides guidance for all 18 sports on purchasing, inventory and products of athletes and coaches.
- Establishes policies and procedures for issue/retrieval of equipment, ordering and coverage of home and away competitions per NCAA and Conference rules
- Establish job descriptions, hire, train and assign work duties for equipment and facility employees
- Establish budgetary guidelines and submit budgets for Facilities and Equipment Room
- Establish and maintain inventory control system for Capital and Non-Capital items and team products
- Other Duties as assigned
