Position Description
Specialized Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinical Care in West Texas.
Our faculty and staff are focused on excellence in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Their enthusiasm and dedication to teaching, patient care and academics is our greatest asset.
We have a Medical Pavilion on our campus where our residents provide outpatient care to women of all ages under faculty supervision. At our Center for Perinatal Medicine we have a diagnostic center for ultrasounds, genetics and fetal testing services that serves a large portion of West Texas and cancer centers that provide quality care for our gynecologic oncology patients. In addition to the gynecology continuity of care clinic, we have a number of other subspecialty clinics including diabetes, high risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology & infertility, and colposcopy.
The department also provides ample opportunities for research for students and residents. Each resident is assigned a research mentor in the first year and is expected to present a finished project in the third or fourth year at our annual resident research day. The faculty is actively engaged in a variety of research endeavors across all areas of the specialty.
We are seeking a board certified or board eligible Gynecologic Oncologist for a full time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions
- Provide comprehensive care for gynecologic malignancies and complex benign conditions.
- Provide surgical care including robotic/minimally invasive surgeries.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary approach including collaboration with surgery, radiation oncology and pathology.
- Engage in tumor boards and quality improvement programs established by the department.
- Participate in the training of residents and medical students.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO/MBBS;
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
- Completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency.
- Completion of, or in process of completing, a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Board Eligible, or in the process of completing training to become board eligible, in Gynecologic Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certified, through ABMS, in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
