Job Summary:
The Athletic Events and Operations Coordinator will assist with the coordination and oversight of athletic events, game day operations, facilities support, and departmental operational needs in support of student-athletes, coaches, and fans.
- Manage and assist with day-to-day athletic operations including, but not limited to, the following tasks.
- Coordinate and assist with game day operations for home athletic events, including staffing, setup, event management, and post-event breakdown.
- Assist with planning and execution of departmental events, special events, hospitality functions, and campus partnership initiatives.
- Oversee concession stand and team store operations, including inventory management, ordering, staffing, set up, and reconciliation support.
- Assist with the daily operations and scheduling of the fitness center and athletic facilities, including coordination of facility usage for athletic, campus, and external events.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate student workers and event staff assigned to athletic operations and events.
- Coordinate hospitality and operational needs for visiting teams, officials, special guests, and event participants.
- Monitor operational supply needs and assist with purchasing, inventory control, and vendor coordination.
- Collaborate with coaches, administrators, campus departments, vendors, and external partners to support athletic operations and events.
- Provide operational coverage and support during evenings, weekends, and special events as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and other athletic department initiatives.
- Foster positive working relationships with students, student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni, officials, vendors, and community members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, event management, recreation, or related field
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed
- Experience coordinating events, operations, or customer service functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in collegiate athletics or a comparable athletic environment
- Experience with game day operations, facility management, merchandise sales, concessions, or event coordination
- Experience supervising student workers or event staff
