Description:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities, the Athletics Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for all facets of day-to-day activities associated with the management of preparing and breaking down a facility pre and post use by athletic teams and events. All staff members are responsible for complying with the policies and procedures set forth by Hofstra University, the Coastal Athletic Association, the NCAA and the job requirements specific to the assignments inherent to athletic administration. This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates the technical setup and breakdown of all athletic facilities events.
- Hires staff for all events and supervises students working at athletic facilities events.
- Supervises a staff of lifeguards.
- Monitors the chemical balance of an Olympic-size swimming pool.
- Opens and closes the Hofstra pool and indoor practice facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a related field.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sports event management and/or pool operations management.
- Knowledge or previous experiences with organizing and planning team fundraising events, clinics, and alumni engagement events.
