Athletic Facilities Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Athletic Facilities and Event Management, the Athletic Facilities Specialist will perform maintenance and preparation functions on athletic fields, floors, and buildings.
Union College sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports and are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECAC Hockey), and the Liberty League. Men’s and women’s ice hockey compete at the NCAA Division I level; all other sports compete at the NCAA Division III level.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain athletic buildings by performing custodial duties, event set up
- Maintain athletic fields by raking, rolling and lining the fields
- Operate light trucks, golf cart, and turf machine
- Assist in snow removal around athletic facilities

Qualifications:
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is required.
- Ability to lift heavy items often in excess of 100 lbs., utilize team lift techniques, stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues
- Must have knowledge of safe working habits/lifting techniques and an attention to detail/knowledge of moving practices.
- A valid New York State driver's license is required.
