Campus: Cranford General Description: The Athletic Information Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing communication, information, and digital media initiatives for the Athletics Department. This includes developing and maintaining athletic websites, producing and distributing electronic newsletters, managing social media campaigns, and ensuring accurate statistical reporting in compliance with NJCAA and institutional standards. In addition, the coordinator supports live event operations by assisting with game management and ensuring that all operational and administrative requirements for home and away contests are executed efficiently. The role plays a key part in promoting the visibility of the athletics program, enhancing fan engagement, and delivering a professional, high-quality experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. The Athletic Information Coordinator works collaboratively with Athletic staff, student workers, and external partners to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information and seamless execution of digital and live event operations. Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities: · Ensure all information requirements for the Athletics Department are complete, accurate, and compliant with NJCAA , conference, College, and other external organization standards. · Manage and maintain all statistical reporting for conference and internal College requirements, ensuring deadlines and compliance standards are consistently met. · Submit student-athlete and team awards, honors, and recognitions to relevant governing bodies throughout the academic year. Digital Media and Content Management · Update and manage the Athletics Department website, ensuring schedules, rosters, statistics, news, and other relevant content are current and accurate. · Manage and update NJCAA Region, conference, and other affiliated athletic websites. · Create and coordinate digital content, including text, images, and video, to engage students, fans, and community members, and promote attendance at athletic events. · Work collaboratively with College Relations to design and implement digital media campaigns aligned with the mission and goals of the Athletics Department. · Develop creative promotions to increase brand awareness, student engagement, and support for athletics programs locally and regionally. · Establish and maintain a strong web and social media presence to support student-athlete recruitment and coach recruitment efforts. Media Relations and Publicity · Serve as a primary contact and liaison between coaches, student-athletes, and the media for all requests, including interviews, photos, game coverage, broadcast lines, and feature stories. · Pitch story ideas for local, regional, and national media outlets, NJCAA , and relevant coaches' organizations. · Prepare, coordinate, and distribute athletic news releases, sport programs, student-athlete feature stories, and game recaps to media outlets. · Attend athletic events to produce live-stream content, provide coverage, and create materials for internal and external audiences. Student Engagement and Team Leadership · Recruit, train, and manage a team of student writers to produce athletic content for media releases and departmental communications. · Solicit student feedback to enhance engagement activities and identify opportunities for new student programs or sports offerings. · Design posts and campaigns that sustain audience interest and promote attendance at athletic events. Event and Display Management · Aid with coverage and operational support for various internal and external Athletic events. · Oversee the Athletics trophy case and displays, ensuring professional presentation and timely updates. · Assist in the preparation and distribution of departmental publications in collaboration with UCNJ College Relations and The Union County College Foundation. Other Duties · Perform other duties as assigned to support the Athletics Department's operational and strategic objectives. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree is required. Experience: Experience with media productions and marketing of athletic programs through all social media platforms. First Aid and CPR certification required, training available. Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
