Athletic Trainer

This licensed Athletic Trainer will enjoy working in the fast-paced Outpatient setting with Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeons. They will deliver direct patient care services within a team approach in conjunction with physician mid-level providers, physical therapists, athletic trainers and associated personnel.
- Surgeon's clinic management
- Scribing for the surgeon
- Serve as a resource for questions regarding patient
- Coordinate with the scheduling
- Provide patient support
- Prepare clinics (access previous notes and information for the surgeons)
- Ensure efficient clinic flow
- Duties as assigned within Athletic Training scope of practice
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in athletic training or related health field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary
- Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association
- Current licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Michigan is necessary.
- Must have current CPR and first aid certification
- DME bracing experience
- Community Outreach Coverage
- Scribing experience
- Physician clinic coordination
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an Athletic Trainer Residency Program
- Master's degree in Athletic Training, or related field
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
