Job Summary
Lead. Mentor. Heal. Join Auburn Football Sports Medicine and make an immediate impact on the health and performance of our student-athletes.
The individual in this position will provide comprehensive preventive and rehabilitative health care for student-athletes, including ongoing assessment, treatment, and individualized recovery planning to support their safe return to play.
Essential Functions
- Supervises practices including preparing athletes for practices, workouts, and games.
- Supervises the rehabilitation protocol of injured athletes as prescribed by the team physician and instructs the athlete in proper rehabilitation procedures.
- Assists coaches with organizing and implementing conditioning programs for student athletes, as well as nutritional concerns.
- Provides first aid and recovery healthcare to student athletes including assessing injuries, treatment and referral to appropriate physician.
- Assists with pre-season physical examinations and physical fitness screening.
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of athletic training room.
- Assists with the compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of all student athlete medical records.
- Performs administrative functions related providing health care for student athletes as needed.
- Complies with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations in the performance of job duties.
- Will work nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science (with an emphasis in athletic training), or related which leads to athletic training certification.
Level I
- Bachelor's degree
- The salary range for this position is $42,220-$67,550
Level II
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in preventing, assessing and treating athletic injuries
- The salary range for this position is $48,550-$77,680
Minimum Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of injury assessment and athletic rehabilitation practices and procedures
Minimum License and Certifications
- Must be certified by the National Trainers' Association Board and eligible to be licensed in the State of Alabama by the Alabama Board of Athletic Training.
Desired Qualifications
Athletic Trainer I
- Dry Needling Training/Certification
- NFL Summer Internship
- Education in food and nutrition in addition to Athletic Training
- Minimum 2 seasons with FBS program as a certified athletic trainer
Athletic Trainer II
- Dry Needling Training/Certification
- IV Therapy Training/Certification
- Student Worker and/or Athletic Trainer Fellow Mentorship
- Experience as a preceptor for athletic training students from accredited programs
- Master's degree in Advanced Athletic Training or similar
- Minimum 4 seasons with FBS program as a certified athletic trainer
Salary Range: $42,220 - $77,680
