Athletic Trainer
Position Purpose: Reports directly to Asst. AD for Athletic Training. Duties include, but are not limited to, prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, use of therapeutic modalities and bracing/taping for athletic injuries under the direction of a physician. Instruct, plan/program, and evaluate therapeutic exercise programs to help decrease pain and increase function of student athletes. Help organize, schedule and execute surveillance testing and pre-participation physicals for student athletes. Traveling with assigned team(s) is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Certification through Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC) is required in addition to State of Michigan Athletic Training Licensure or ability to obtain license within 90 days of employment.
- Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Proven work history in an independent setting.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and insurance acceptable to the University's insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field is preferred.
- One year of experience in an independent setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Evidence of the desire for continuing education.
