Job Description:

Budget title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)

Salary: $29,230 (60% of full-time)

Binghamton University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the America East Conference, is seeking an Athletics Purchasing Officer (APO). As a member of the athletics support staff, the Athletics Purchasing Officer reports directly to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Financial Operations. The APO manages all aspects of procuring athletic apparel, equipment and footwear for all 21 varsity athletic programs and support areas.

  • Serves as the Division's primary purchasing agent for athletic apparel, equipment and footwear.
  • Works directly with Head Coaches (or designated Assistant Coaches) and/or Staff, along with the Procurement Coordinator, to confirm and finalize all athletic apparel, equipment and footwear orders, including submission of the electronic Purchasing, Payables & Reimbursement (PPR) Form to document appropriate approvals.
  • Places athletic apparel, equipment and footwear orders with the Division of Athletics' primary equipment vendor. Places any orders with secondary vendors when applicable.
  • Maintains documentation related to ordering.
  • Updates Equipment Ordering spreadsheet/Google document regularly, along with several other spreadsheets.
  • Informs applicable staff when items are received, indicating further communication from the Equipment & Issue Room staff is forthcoming for delivery/distribution instructions.
  • Confirms receipt of items to the Athletics Finance Office for payment purposes, by matching up invoices with Receiving Reports for items.

Athletics Financial Operations Duties

  • Assists Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Financial Operations with monthly and quarterly Athletics Financial Operations reporting.

Game Day Staff

  • Will have in-game responsibilities for selected sports on game nights

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Able and willing to work nights and weekends

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Familiarity with software ordering/tracking/inventory systems
  • Purchasing work experience
  • Experience with replay software and the game day atmosphere
