Job Story
The NIAR Adv Tech Lab Aerospace System is looking for a lab assistant to help with daily tasks.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Perform basic preventive maintenance on autoclaves/ovens, assist in transporting materials/tools/panels, utilizes cutting table to cut and kit all fabrics and materials, perform aerospace grade composite layup according to specifications, perform aerospace grade vacuum bagging according to specifications, tool prepping such as sanding, cleaning, mold sealing and releasing of tools, ability to work specific drawings with limited supervision, ability to complete work orders, paperwork and manufacturing routing sheets, etc. Comply with AS9100 requirements.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
Dependable, adaptable, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, and crawling inside and outside freezers, basic familiarity with Microsoft Office, must be able to work minimum of 20 hours/week (time range from 8 am-10 pm).

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
