• Full-time, Fixed-term to 30/06/2025. Current UNE Staff: In taking up this appointment, please be aware your current fixed term or permanent role will cease the day prior to you taking this position.
• $131,671 to $151,624 per annum (Level C)
• Plus 17% employer superannuation
• Salary packaging options are available
• 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
• Flexible/hybrid work arrangements considered.
• Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)

About the role

As a Senior Lecturer in Counselling (Teaching Focused), you will join our dynamic team of academics, contribute to the development of future counselling professionals and further raise the profile of the School of Health. The role will provide you with opportunities to teach in the post-graduate programs in counselling and mental health; and in undergraduate programs at UNE in which our counselling units are offered.

About you

As a Teaching Focused Academic you will contribute to the innovation of learning, teaching and assessment, and lead in the design and delivery of education at the University within the context of the Future Fit strategic plan. You are expected to make a significant contribution to teaching practice within your department, school or faculty, and will be showing appropriate levels of leadership in the scholarship of learning and teaching, educational design and delivery. The UNE academic development, career and promotion frameworks will support your success in this position.

About the Faculty/School

The Faculty of Medicine and Health offers innovative degree programs across a range of disciplines and professions, underpinned by the University's commitment to providing excellent teaching, outstanding learning facilities and a first-rate student learning experience. The Faculty includes three Schools: the School of Health, the School of Rural Medicine and the School of Psychology. The School of Health within the Medicine and Health Faculty offers undergraduate programs, as well as postgraduate coursework and research programs in Nursing, Community Services, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health, Aged Care, Public Health (One Health), Pharmacy and Health Management. The School has full time and part time/casual academic staff, as well as casual facilitator staff that are involved in regional, state, national health and private organisations.
