Essential Functions

Your Responsibilities as an Auburn Giving Officer:

  • Purpose: Play a crucial role in identifying and cultivating major gifts ($25,000+) to support Auburn University's mission. Work with clearly defined weekly, monthly, and annual goals for qualification visits and qualifying major gift prospects.
  • Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration by building cooperative partnerships with colleagues in Advancement and other university departments. Organize information to identify potential fundraising opportunities and support decision making and planning related to prospective donors.
  • Innovation: Engage in innovative prospecting activities through phone calls, emails, texts, and events to identify potential donors. Build Human Sciences' major gift pipeline by determining if visited prospects should be further cultivated for major gifts. For prospects not ready for major gifts, make referrals to appropriate areas for further engagement or solicitation.
  • Production: Conduct in-person qualification visits with prospects, evaluating their interest in philanthropic giving. Travel to meet individuals, share information about engineering's programs and initiatives, and address their questions to inform future fundraising efforts. Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoints to maintain meaningful connections with donors.
