AUDIOLOGY ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
DIVISION OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

West Virginia University School of Medicine - Health Professions located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track (12-month) Assistant/Associate Audiology Professor, Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders to contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching within the undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders and Doctor of Audiology programs, and provide clinical services in the WVU Speech, Language, Hearing Clinic. Individuals with clinical experience and/or expertise in pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, and aural rehabilitation are encouraged to apply but all areas within the field of Audiology will be considered. This individual will contribute to a department culture of collegiality, collaboration, and trust, will promote innovation and resourcefulness, and will seek to promote partnerships within the department, community, and other related programs. Active engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:

  • Doctor of Audiology (AuD) or Master's Degree in Audiology;
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence;
  • West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or eligible for a West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in clinical supervision and/or experience with academic instruction.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Terminal degree in Audiology or related field (PhD or EdD);

All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, DC, to the east, Pittsburgh, PA, to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus, OH, to the northwest. Morgantown has 30,277 residents and is rated as one of the best small towns in the U.S., with affordable housing, excellent schools, a picturesque countryside and many outdoor activities. Morgantown is consistently rated as one of the best small metropolitan areas in the country for both lifestyle and business climate. The area offers the cultural diversity and amenities of a large city in a safe, family-friendly environment. There is also an excellent school system and an abundance of beautiful homes and recreational activities.

Faculty members in the Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders are afforded a differential workload allowing for customization of expectations based on research expertise, clinical/teaching expertise, and service obligations. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
