Automation Controls Technician
Perform installation, operation and maintenance of the Energy Management & Controls Systems (EMCS) for the purpose of monitoring and controlling the environmental conditions in buildings on campus. This position requires good working knowledge of HVAC systems and control devices and the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. This position should understand control theory and how it applies to building HVAC systems.
Job Duties
- Respond to “Hot & Cold” calls from the campus community. Repair pneumatic and DDC VAV box controls with assistance. Calibrate and replace pneumatic T-stats and other miscellaneous pneumatic equipment. (30%)
- Monitor the campus system from the Tridium front-end and identify problems. (15%)
- Diagnose problems with AHUs and VFDs; repair or reset if necessary. (15%)
- Assist other University personnel in the operation and repair of HVAC systems. (10%)
- Perform preventative maintenance on control systems. (10%)
- Diagnose and repair problems with the energy metering systems with assistance. (10%)
- Document completed preventive maintenance and work order requests using the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). (5%)
- Work alongside outside Contractors for the installation and commissioning of EMCS in new construction and renovation projects. (5%)
