Automotive Technician
Job Summary
Performs car, truck and automotive vehicle maintenance on campus vehicles. Responsible for scheduling and performing general overhaul and minor mechanical and electrical repairs. Performs general, preventative and supportive maintenance tasks including detection and correction of mechanical failures. Follows established shop safety policies and procedures and other regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs light repair work (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, brake services and inspections)
- Assists other technicians and/or other staff members on emergency and corrective maintenance
- Coordinates and assists in the repair and service of vehicles and diesel powered automotive equipment and small engines
- Establishes priorities, schedules and assigns work
- Maintains clean and safe work environment adhering to ASHRAE standards
- Inspects, adjusts or replaces defective parts
- Diagnoses, disassembles, rebuilds or repairs two (2) and four (4) cycle engine equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance on backup generators
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications: Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience: Three (3) years related experience
