Offer Description
Istanbul Okan University is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle and HIL Simulation Engineer to contribute to advanced R&D projects in connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV/AV) technologies at the Transportation Technologies and Intelligent Systems Application and Research Centre (TTIS), using the OPINA infrastructure.
The successful candidate will work especially on a HORIZON EUROPE funded project Acceptremote, on the verification, validation, virtual development and simulation-based testing of autonomous driving and ADAS functions. The role requires hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems, vehicle dynamics simulation, scenario-based testing and data replay methodologies for autonomous vehicle development.
The position offers the opportunity to work within national and international research projects, industry-academia collaborations and advanced simulation and testing infrastructures for next-generation connected, automated and software-defined mobility systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate and support HIL, SIL and MIL test environments for autonomous driving and ADAS functions.
- Develop, configure and execute test scenarios using dSPACE HIL systems, including ASM, SCALEXIO and related toolchains.
- Model vehicle, traffic and environmental scenarios using IPG Automotive TruckMaker.
- Integrate sensor models, including camera, radar and LiDAR, as well as actuator models into the simulation environment.
- Support the verification and validation of autonomous driving software through ODD-based tests, scenario-based testing and edge-case analysis.
- Use data collected from autonomous vehicle sensors for data replay on dSPACE HIL systems and prepare realistic test scenarios.
- Develop and maintain test automation, regression testing procedures and performance analysis workflows.
- Provide technical support to ISO 26262, SOTIF and related functional safety and safety validation processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, validation evidence and project deliverables.
