Overview The Award Setup Analyst is responsible for the creation and modification of sponsored research accounts in the financial system, overseeing a portfolio of departments. This role involves reading and interpreting award documents, analyzing data to determine appropriate award setup, and ensuring the timely and accurate establishment of billing schedules and budget templates. The Analyst collaborates with various units to resolve issues and provide guidance on the award setup process, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Research Administration experience in a university or non-profit environment. 2. Familiarity with financial systems and database query/reporting tools. 3. Proven ability to accurately interpret grant and contract documents. Principal Responsibilities 1. Sponsored Award Analysis:  Perform complex Analysis of award agreements to effectively and efficiently create Workday award based on sponsor specific terms and conditions as well as University Policies, Procedures, and internal SOPs. Using in depth analysis, identify trends during the award setup process and recommend solutions to resolve and/or improve. Provides high quality service to faculty and administrators in the overall management of the award setup aspects of their sponsored awards. 2. Compliance and Risk Management:  Establishes, implements and/or maintains strong internal controls in areas of assigned responsibility to provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resources use, accurate award analytic information, and adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.  3. Award Setup Methods, Systems and Client Management:  Recommend methods to improve practices, processes, and system utilization. Collaborate with internal and external contacts to execute department objectives. Provide a high level of service that cultivates and maintains strong working relationships and effectively communicates with customers; takes ownership and accountability for timeliness, accuracy, and relationship management. 4. Strategic Resource:  Translates unit finance objectives into priorities. Reports award setup issues and risks and makes recommendations. Contacts appropriate stakeholders to include in communications and approvals. 5. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field and 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
