Banquet Server & Set Up - Full-Time with Benefits (Hotel Job)

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Set-up and serve food and beverages to guests. Read event orders and ensure guest needs are met successfully. This position works under limited supervision and serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students and hourly employees in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. This position can cross train as a banquet bartender. This position may have opening or closing responsibilities. Morning and Weekday Daytime availability is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service for the banquet department.
- Set up for banquet events, carry trays, serve guests and clean up events.
- Provide consistently high standard of service in all areas of service and meal functions related to group.
- Read banquet event orders and/or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
- Move equipment and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks and delivery vehicles to required location.
- Maintain proper care of all banquet equipment after each use.
- Move, lift, or carry needed tables, chairs and additional equipment from storage, and return them after use.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Effectively handle communicate and customer concerns.
- Participate in department and pre-shift meetings.
- Understand and practice "Service Alcohol with Care" principles.
- Maintain compliance with required training as designated by supervisor.
- Regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.
