Job Summary
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine (SOM) is currently seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure core faculty educator position in pathology. The ideal candidate will have a history of teaching excellence in medical education and the leadership skills to serve as core faculty in integrated courses in phases 1, 2 or 3 of our curriculum. The selected candidate will provide instruction in basic science/foundational courses across multiple disciplines including Pathology, Histology, Pathophysiology, Physiology and Cell Biology, and serve as facilitator for small group discussion in case-based learning, problem-based learning, and other small group sessions. In addition, this position will collaborate with other clinical and basic science faculty for the development of clinical cases to emphasize basic science foundational concepts and will participate in the development and review of formative and summative assessment items. The position is a full-time academic position without clinically related duties.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Medical Students
- Develop the goals, learning objectives, prework assignments, pre- and post-test assessment questions, and any supplemental materials for each topic in the Phase 1 sequence (may identify faculty from other colleges to assist).
