Become an Assistant or Associate Professor of Architecture, Accessibility and Inclusive Practices
The Faculty of Environmental Design of the Université de Montréal is home to three schools: the School of Architecture, the School of Design, and the School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture. Its mission is to advance knowledge and train high-calibre talent capable of transforming environmental design practices through research and innovation.
The School of Architecture contributes to research and education aimed at quality, sustainable and inclusive architecture, both locally and globally. It is one of twelve schools in Canada accredited by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Teach lectures, studios and seminars in the Bachelor, Masters and PhD programs in Architecture;
- Develop an original and impactful research program focusing on architecture, accessibility and inclusive practices;
- Supervise Master’s and PhD students;
- Contribute to the visibility of the discipline through conferences, publications and scientific activities.
Qualifications
- Hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) related to the field of architecture;
- Hold a professional degree in architecture;
- Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality university-level teaching;
- Possess an excellent research and publication record;
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge in architecture applicable to the North American context;
- Demonstrate potential to develop collaborations;
- Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it.
