Founded in 1960, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) is a municipal multidisciplinary key university providing programs in science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, art and education, with engineering as its core focus. In 1981, BJUT was approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the first to confer master’s degrees in China. In 1985, BJUT was approved to confer doctoral degrees. In 1996, BJUT was listed into China’s “211 Project” and officially joined the rank of the country’s Top 100 key universities in the 21st century. In September 2017, BJUT was listed into China’s “World-class Discipline Construction Plan”. In 2020, BJUT ranked 32 in the QS Mainland China University Rankings.

Over the 60 years since its founding, guided by the reform and development of China and the capital city, and in the principle of building a world-class university with characteristics of China and Beijing, BJUT has been committed to the mission of training top-notch high-quality innovative talents for the capital city while gradually building itself into a high-level research university with a global reputation and its own characteristics. Creating a High-level Multi-tiered Discipline Structure with Distinctive Features and Cross Collaboration

Guided by the major demands of Beijing’s economic and social development, and in light of its own characteristics and advantages, BJUT pursues the leapfrog development of its disciplines by placing a great emphasis on its world-class disciplinary cluster of Modern Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering, while strengthening painstakingly its core disciplines and supporting disciplines. Through the cross-disciplinary integration and collaboration, BJUT creates a new discipline layout featuring top engineering disciplines, preponderant science disciplines, distinctive humanities and management disciplines, and exquisite art disciplines.

Senior scholars and experts who have made systematic and ground-breaking achievements and significant contributions in relevant fields, and is widely recognized by academia globally. 2. Age limit of up to 65 years old.Position: First-level Professor and Doctoral Supervisor (with support for team-building). Salary Package: No less than 1.5 million RMB. Research Funds: Up to 10 million RMB for talents in science and engineering; up to 3 million RMB for talents in humanities, social sciences, economics and management. Benefits: Permanent housing of about 150 square meters; assistance in the arrangement of spouse’s job and children’s education, etc.Leading Experts1. Experts and scholars who excel in teaching and education with outstanding contributions in student cultivation; leading expert who has obtained great influence and widely recognized research achievements in relevant fields as well as strong leadership capabilities. 2. Age limit of up to 55 years old.Position: Second-level Professor and Doctoral Supervisor (with support for team-building). Salary Package: No less than 1 million RMB. Research Funds: Up to 5 million RMB for talents in science and engineering; up to 1.5 million RMB for talents in humanities, social sciences, economics and management. Benefits: Permanent housing of about 120 square meters; assistance in the arrangement of spouse’s job and children’s education, etc.Outstanding Experts1. Outstanding young scholars who have relatively high academic achievements, a great innovative potential, and the capability to promote or lead the relevant disciplines towards a world-class level. 2. Age limit of up to 42 years old for experts in science and engineering, and up to 45 years old for experts in humanities, social sciences, economics and management.Position: Fourth-level Professor & Doctoral Supervisor (with support for team-building). Salary Package: No less than 600,000 RMB. Research Funds: Up to 1.5 million RMB for talents in science and engineering; up to 500,000 RMB for talents in humanities, social sciences, economics and management. Benefits: Temporary housing of about 60 square meters; assistance in the arrangement of children’s education, etc.Excellent Experts1. Excellent researchers, post-doctors, and PhDs (specific standards upon inquiries). 2. Age limit of up to 35 years old for experts in the sciences and engineering, and up to 38 years old for experts in the humanities, social sciences, economics and management.Position: University Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Salary Package: No less than 350,000 RMB. Research Funds: Up to 1 million RMB for talents in science and engineering; and up to 300,000 RMB for talents in humanities, social sciences, economics and management. Benefits: 500,000 RMB housing allowances, assistance in the arrangement of children’s education, etc.
