Job Summary:
Roseman University of Health Sciences is seeking a dynamic and employee-focused Benefits & Wellness Partner to join our Human Resources team. This high-impact role administers the University’s comprehensive employee benefits programs while leading a strategic, data-driven wellness initiative designed to support the total well-being of our employees.
The Benefits & Wellness Partner serves as a trusted resource to faculty and staff at all levels, providing benefits guidance, education, reconciliation oversight, and wellness engagement opportunities. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly communicative, solutions-oriented, and passionate about enhancing the employee experience through meaningful benefits and whole-person wellness programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Benefits Administration & Compliance
- Administer daily benefits operations including enrollments, status changes, qualifying life events, eligibility verification, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and Section 125 requirements.
- Coordinate required benefits notices and disclosures.
- Collaborate with Payroll and HRIS teams to maintain accurate benefits data within Workday and carrier systems.
- Partner with external carriers, brokers, and vendors to ensure responsive service delivery and issue resolution.
Employee Wellness & Whole-Person Well-Being
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive wellness program supporting physical, emotional, financial, and social well-being.
- Partner with internal departments and external vendors to deliver wellness challenges, educational seminars, screenings, financial wellness initiatives, and preventive care programming.
- Track participation metrics and employee feedback to continuously refine and improve wellness strategies.
Communication & Employee Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for benefits and wellness inquiries, providing empathetic, accurate guidance and advocacy.
- Develop clear and engaging communication materials including presentations, FAQs, newsletters, and intranet resources.
- Facilitate new hire benefits orientations, open enrollment meetings, and targeted educational sessions.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform monthly benefits invoice reconciliations across medical, dental, vision, life/disability, HSA/FSA, and related plans.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with carriers, Payroll, and Finance.
- Audit eligibility and benefits data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
- Prepare utilization, wellness engagement, and reconciliation reports for HR leadership.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, carriers, and wellness vendors.
- Support plan renewals, RFP processes, benchmarking, and plan design evaluations as needed.
HR Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with HR colleagues on onboarding, employee engagement, recognition initiatives, and process improvements.
- Contribute innovative ideas, best practices, and positive energy to support a collaborative HR culture.
Required Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience demonstrating strong competency in benefits administration is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of benefits administration experience; wellness program coordination strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems; Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced education or professional certification such as CEBS, PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP.
- Experience supporting employee wellness or well-being initiatives.
- Experience in higher education or healthcare environments preferred.
