IT@JH Univ Data Analytics & Engineering is seeking a BI Administrator who will provide hands-on technical leadership for the administration, operational reliability, and governance support of Johns Hopkins' enterprise BI platforms, including Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and emerging Microsoft Fabric. partnering closely with M365, security, infrastructure, and governance stakeholders to implement standards for access, compliance, documentation, and audit/logging readiness. The role operates within a matrixed administrative model, working in close collaboration with partner BI administrators across other institutional areas to promote aligned practices, coordinated decision-making, and consistent platform support for a broad and diverse customer base. In addition, the role develops technical guidance and user-facing communications, supports licensing and cost recovery activities, and helps ensure these BI services remain secure, stable, scalable, and well governed for the institution.

In Addition to the Duties Described Above
- Administer BI platform environments and services, including configuration, operational health monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and production support across Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and Fabric as adopted.
- Coordinate and support hybrid connectivity components required by the platforms (e.g., gateways/bridges) in partnership with central server management and infrastructure teams; ensure operational runbooks and operational telemetry are maintained.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for platform-level issues and coordinate escalations with vendor support (e.g., Microsoft support for Power BI).
- Implement and operationalize BI platform governance guardrails (workspace/capacity standards, lifecycle practices, and administrative processes) and participate in governance forums to review/approve changes, consistent with established practice for Power BI tenant and feature setting decisions.
- Develop and maintain technical and end-user-facing content (knowledge base articles, admin guidance, best practices, and reusable communications) and leverage Teams/SharePoint collaboration channels to promote consistent practices among distributed site administrators and the broader user community.
- Coordinate license administration, usage reporting, and associated cost recovery activities (where applicable) in partnership with finance and related service owners; support vendor relationship motions and escalation pathways.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Six years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience administering cloud BI services and hybrid connectivity components (gateways/bridges), plus experience troubleshooting production incidents and maintaining operational documentation/runbooks.
- Comfort operating in cross-team governance processes and translating platform capabilities/risks into standards, communications, and operational practices.
