equipment, facilities, and living collections, including microscopes, pipettes, growth chambers, and a greenhouse; and manage a team of part-time student workers to aid in these tasks. Qualifications:
Required: A bachelor's degree in biology or related discipline; at least two years of experience in biological laboratories; experience with managing shared electronic documents (e.g., Google Drive).
Preferred: A master’s degree in biology; over two years’ experience in academic biological laboratories; experience training and managing teams of students.
The successful candidate will:
Work independently while coordinating with a team; work well with a variety of people, including faculty, staff, and students; plan for instructional laboratory needs over the time scales of days, weeks, and semesters; recognize problems and attempt solutions; propose new methods to accomplish goals; use technical language to communicate precise specifications for procurement, preparation, and handling of hazardous materials; research and critically evaluate information to support decision making; effectively manage teams of students; keep well organized records; lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
The candidate must be authorized to work full-time in the United States and be able to begin work no later than July 20th.
