Job Description:
- Field & Laboratory Research
Assist with laboratory and field research using established scientific methods and procedures. Collects plant, soil, and water samples; operates and maintains irrigation systems, environmental sensors, and other research equipment; and performs routine equipment maintenance while following laboratory and field safety protocols. Operate state vehicles for travel to field research sites and other official University business. - Research Data Collection & Analysis
Collects, records, organizes, and maintains research data in accordance with established procedures. Assists with data analysis, maintains research databases and documentation, and accurately records research methods, procedures, and results to support ongoing research projects. - Laboratory & Research Support
Prepares laboratory materials and research supplies, maintains laboratory inventory and equipment, and provides support for routine research activities and special projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator. - Extension & Outreach Support
Assists with field days, demonstrations, and educational outreach activities by helping prepare research and educational materials and supporting extension programs as needed. - Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary: $46,000.00
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
Preferred: Knowledge of basic field research methods, data collection, and recordkeeping. Experience with irrigation systems, environmental sensors, or agricultural research is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to safely operate laboratories and field equipment are required. Familiarity with citrus production and Florida agriculture is preferred.
