Position Summary

The Biosafety Manager (BSM) reports directly to the Director of Biosafety/Biosafety Officer and assumes the responsibility of providing biosafety support in the research laboratories and assisting the director in regulatory compliance guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, infectious diseases, plant pathology, or a closely related biological science, or at least two years of hands-on experience in a biological research laboratory.
• Experience conducting biosafety inspections and compliance assessments in an academic, healthcare, or government research environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, principal investigators, laboratory staff, and diverse research communities.
