Biostatistician IV

Position Summary/ Department Summary:

This Biostatistician IV position is a key member of the Margaret C. Ryan Global Health Program at Boston Children's Hospital, which partners with institutions worldwide to advance child health in diverse settings-from tertiary care hospitals to communities affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters. The Program's work spans research, education, technical support, and policy engagement, all with the goal of building sustainable, scalable solutions to ensure every child has access to safe and high-quality healthcare.

The Biostatistician IV will provide advanced statistical and epidemiological expertise across the Program's diverse portfolio, supporting study design, operational research, and data-driven decision-making. In addition to developing rigorous analytic strategies for clinical, public health, and humanitarian projects, the role will contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks that inform program implementation and policy impact. This position will also be central to the Program's data innovation agenda, including the Humanitarian DHIS2 Hub-a partnership with Save the Children International to stabilize and expand the world's most widely used open-source health information system.

The Hub seeks to strengthen data systems for maternal and child health, nutrition, and infectious diseases while filling critical gaps in community health, non-communicable diseases, trauma, mental health, and equity. The Biostatistician IV will help shape analytic methods, validate new indicator sets, and apply statistical approaches to both clinical and cross-sectoral humanitarian data, contributing to research outputs, policy guidance, and improved health system performance globally. In addition, the Biostatistician IV will provide mentorship and technical guidance to a junior biostatistician already on the team, fostering skill development and ensuring the highest quality of statistical support across projects.
