Department Summary
The overarching mission of the Department of Internal Medicine is the pursuit of excellence in each facet of its tripartite mission:

- To provide superior, compassionate and innovative clinical care to our patients using state-of-the-art knowledge and resources
- To conduct and disseminate cutting-edge biomedical research and scholarship, with a focus on translational research that can be quickly applied to the care of patients.
Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Standard 1: Registered nursing license in Virginia
- Standard 2: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
- Standard 3: Experience in patient care management, preferably in a clinical or public health setting
- Standard 4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Standard 5: Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Standard 1: Five years of relevant professional experience or combination of education, training, and experience, preferably in hematology
- Standard 2: 1-2 years of experience in clinical research or public health surveillance
- Standard 3: Knowledge and experience in public health, health policy, and public and private health insurance markets, with the ability to review and interpret policies, and skills in policy analysis and healthcare system navigation.
- Standard 4: Experience in policy review and interpretation, especially in relation to state and federal health initiatives.
Salary Range
Commensurate with Experience up to $110,000
