Bose-Einstein Condensate of strontium atoms
About the Project
We are setting up a new experiment for the realisation of Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) of strontium atoms. In a BEC, one achieves macroscopic filling of atoms in a single quantum state, which manifests itself as a sharp peak in momentum as well as in position space. We aim to achieve BECs of strontium 84 isotope using optical dipole trap. Optical dipole traps enables faster and nice way to achieve BECs. As a PhD student, you will be joining a strong team of PostDocs and PhDs, with state-of-art research facilities.
