Brand Management Coordinator

Job Summary/Basic Function

The Brand Management Coordinator supports key areas of Wright State's brands within University Communications and Marketing. This position requires a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt as business needs dictate. This Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that key tasks such as brand and product approval, request for processing, and necessary next steps are reviewed and completed daily. Additionally, this role will ensure that Wright State, Wright State Athletics, and all institutional connected brands are represented within stated guidelines and positioning the university in the best way possible.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work independently
  • Creative thinker in developing innovative ideas and solutions to marketing/communication challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding/working within brand guidelines
  • Experience within the retail and/or apparel industry
  • Understanding of collegiate retail and fan engagement strategies
  • Passion for higher education, university spirit, and/or brand storytelling

Essential Functions and percent of time

40% - Develop a knowledge and understanding of Wright State's brands to be a resource internally (i.e. university staff) and externally (i.e. institutions, retailers, etc.) to ensure brand compliance.

  • Understand the brand and how to identify appropriate use and misuse, enforcing university brand guidelines
  • Ensure Wright State's brands are represented within guidelines, being able to approve or disapprove requests with explanations
  • Be a resource for brand inquiries for internal stakeholders and vendors

40% - Review requests through apparel/product and CLC platforms to ensure brand compliance.

  • Review, approve, and track requests, renewals, and product submissions from vendors, licensees, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure Wright State's brands are represented within guidelines, being able to approve or disapprove requests with explanations
  • Oversee finished sample approvals to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and product quality

10% - Provide support to the University Communications and Marketing teams by creating unit logos, gathering materials for trademark requests, managing brand inquiries, etc.

  • Serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and vendors seeking brand usage approval, promoting brand awareness and compliance
  • Gather materials for trademark efforts
  • Create unit logos using Adobe software
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries regarding brand guidelines
  • Develop reports on vendor and stakeholder requests
