Job Description
We're seeking instructors to teach the following courses, with the potential for continuing appointments in these and/or other courses based on need.
Appointment is contingent on class enrollment for each class, each semester.
- CRTV 235 - On-Air Radio - Fall 2026 - in person, MW 9am-12:50pm
- CRTV 129 - Broadcast News - Spring 2026
For CRTV 235, students gain a technical, creative and legal foundation for producing live radio and podcast content. Students produce shows or segments for the 24-hour internet radio station, Hornet Radio, which can include talk, music or news formats, as well as live event streaming.
For CRTV 129, students learn to produce video and audio news packages following broadcast journalism standards.
We have multiple podcast studios, a multimedia/video studio, and industry-level photo/audio/video equipment for students to use in their reporting. The candidate(s) would design their own syllabi and train students in use of necessary technology, and teach courses with both lecture and lab hours. The journalism/radio department can offer support in terms of curriculum development and tech support.
Instructors will get access to the Adobe Creative Suite and Fullerton College library resources, as well as the option for paid office hours. Those who teach at least 6 units per semester (approximately two classes) have access to health insurance under the current adjunct faculty bargaining contract.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
OR
Any associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.
OR
The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience with real-world journalism, radio or broadcasting.
- Passionate about teaching community college students.
- Experience in applying diversity, equity and inclusion practices in the workplace or classroom.
Salary Range
$1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 - $1380.60 per lab unit rate
