Job Summary
This position assists and provides support in the preparation, planning, and maintenance of budgets for the college’s academic and administrative departments.
Responsibilities
Budget Development 30%
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
- Quarterly analysis of revenue reports and expenditures compared to the annual budget.
- Track and manage contingency funds, reserves, and carryforward balances.
- Conduct regular analysis of budget positions and review budget/expenditure requests.
- Assist with preparing materials for internal budget meetings.
- Assist in forecasting enrollment-driven impacts to revenue and academic pay.
Financial Analysis 45%
- Maintain and update chart strings and position funding structures to ensure accurate financial reporting,
- Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly budget reports.
- Provide support for auxiliary and PPV cash flow and other related reporting.
- Audit academic pay reports and analyze instructional costs.
- Assist with year-end and month-end close activities.
Collaboration and Communication 25%
- Assist with the preparation and submission of USG financial reports.
- Serve as the budget liaison for departments.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources Department to determine timelines for all HCM data changes and their effect on payroll processes.
- Provide departmental budget training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Three years (3) of experience in reporting, financial analysis, and budgeting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Knowledge of Board of Regents policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with preferred experience in Peoplesoft HCM and Financial systems.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgement and discretion.

Other Information
Target Salary Range: $45,000 - $57,000; commensurate with education and experience
