Job Summary
The Building Project Coordinator ensures that all physical facilities effectively support the needs of the college, staff, students, and guests. Maintains project portfolio, budgets, and timelines. Communicates with staff to meet resource needs.
Additional Department Summary
Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Administration, the Law School Building Project Coordinator manages the physical facilities and grounds at the University of Alabama School of Law. This includes, but is not limited to: coordinating all maintenance, repair, and renovation work at the law school with the appropriate university teams or external vendors; working closely with the law school Events Planner to execute event logistical plans to ensure the success of law school events; supervising law school security staff and managing law school access control measures; managing the law school property inventory and key inventory; and performing other duties as assigned by the Dean and Assistant Dean of Administration, including being on call 24/7 to respond to building emergencies.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in construction, engineering, or project management; OR master's degree and some experience in construction, engineering, or project management.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge
Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with preventative maintenance planning. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate professionally with various constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, vendors, and service providers. Ability to work as a part of a team or independently. Proficiency with routine office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience in managing a complex or multiple operation facility.
