Building Services Assistant - Van Driver

The role
The University Library is looking to appoint a Facilities Management Assistant (Driver). The FM team provides a wide range of services to the University Library and a network of affiliated libraries across Cambridge. This role will be the libraries sole driver, playing a key part in supporting daily operations.
As FM Van Driver you will
- Make daily deliveries and collections to the off-site storage facility in Ely.
- Deliver material to various locations across Cambridge and sometimes further afield.
- Check and maintain both library vehicles, a 3.5T tail lift Luton van and a Ford Transit.
- Be responsible for communicating with other departments to arrange deliveries and collections at a time to suit them.
- Help other FM colleagues to carry out basic maintenance tasks, spot cleaning, contractor escorting and other tasks allocated to you via the FM Helpdesk.
What we are looking for
- Someone with a full UK driving licence and a strong driving record.
- Committed to health and safety, diversity, and dignity at work.
- Good communication and basic IT skills.
- Comfortable working unsupervised and takes pride in their work.
- High level of reliability and the ability to manage time effectively.
