Job Overview
The College of Medicine, Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a full-time Business Administrator reporting directly to the Executive Director Business and Administration/Vice Chair – Operations and Finance.
Business Administrators typically have direct supervisory responsibilities of a unit or multiple units, in addition to major management responsibilities for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations, academic, or student services. Responsibilities include day-to-day administration of specialized activities related to a business office and reports to management, provide recommendations and advice to management or other groups on process related topics and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations. This position may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option for applicants with a residence within the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Tri-State area once training is complete. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.
Essential Functions
- Manage the financial, administrative, and operational activities of a large and diversified unit with a considerable income generation component.
- Direct personnel functions for an operating unit and oversee annual salary increase processes.
- Coordinate budget preparation and monitor grants and contracts.
- Partner with Clinical Operations Managers to maximize physician productivity and engagement.
- Monitor performance metrics and lead improvement activities across the administrative spectrum.
- Determine purchasing priorities and make recommendations for major capital expenditures.
- Serves as a seasoned and proficient professional.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can change at any time.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field. Seven (7) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of financial and administrative experience, including one (1) year of previous supervisory experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Possess the business/financial/analytical experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
- Master’s trained candidate in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health Administration, or Accounting (CPA) is ideal.
- Prior experience in the following fields: Health care administration, Accounting/Revenue cycle, Physician practice management.
