Business Administrator I
The Business Administrator I, under the general supervision of the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, manages the full range of business activities within the College. This is a 12-month, full-time, staff position located in-office on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM-5 PM or as business requirements indicate. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Responsibilities:
- 40% - Long-term project and event planning, building management, purchasing, and contracts: Compiles reports, maintains records and other documents, and coordinates special events. Plans and coordinates logistical and administrative support for events, meetings or other special functions and provides on-site support. Assist in completing the yearly college inventory and maintaining records. Managing College and Department contracts in AggieBuy. Oversee building management needs for the Johanson Science building. Plans and prepares reports, manuals, and publications. Researches, compiles, and applies information, making evaluative judgments on appropriate data to use. Analyzes requirements for projects or initiatives.
- 40% - Process and procedure development and oversight, travel and committee planning, Tenure and Promotion, data gathering, organization, and reporting: Prepares travel arrangements and itineraries and may approve and process travel reimbursements. Evaluates documents submitted for the administrator's signature.
- 20% - Office Manager, staff supervisor, calendar management, HR Contact, website management, inventory: Provides support for long-range planning and scheduling activities. Provides direct support to high-level administrators. Drafts and manages correspondence and communications, schedules appointments, manages calendars, and coordinates travel. Provides expert advice to Management. Formulate, interpret, and implement policies, rules, and regulations. Plans and prepares reports, manuals, and publications. Acts as the administrator's representative in dealing with third parties. Coordinates and monitors action items and assignments made by the administration. Oversees supervisory duties for College staff members. Manage the College of Science and Mathematics website. HR Contact for hiring.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Interpersonal and communication skills. Planning and organizational skills.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience. The target base annual salary range is $49,000 to $68,330.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
