Business Analyst

AUT is seeking a skilled and collaborative Business Analyst to join our ICT Services team in the Office of the CTO. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of data and information-focused initiatives that support the University’s strategic goals and have impact across the institution.
Reporting to the Director, Data, Technology Risk & Policy, you will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, project managers, and technical teams to investigate business needs, define requirements, and help shape practical solutions to complex challenges. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both business and technology domains and can bring clarity to ambiguity.
You will play an important part in helping AUT improve processes, strengthen decision-making, and deliver effective change across projects and business-as-usual activities. Alongside your analytical expertise, your ability to build relationships, navigate competing priorities, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences will be key to your success.
About you | Ko wai koe
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in IT and/or business analysis.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques and practices.
- Experience eliciting, gathering and synthesising requirements into clear specifications.
- Experience coordinating workstreams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

You will bring an open, engaging, and collaborative approach, with the flexibility to respond to changing requirements, and actively contribute to a positive and collegial environment.
