Position Description
Performs coordinative work in the business or administrative operation of a specific department or college. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a department as well as monitoring operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise staff or student assistants.
Major/Essential Functions
- Support the department by providing administrative and business operations functions.
- Assist department travelers with travel pre-approvals and expense reports in the travel system, compiling documentation, and advising on travel guidelines.
- Prepare p-card reconciliation and complete expense reports for department staff members.
- Prepare and submit purchase orders and other required invoices related to work orders and projects.
- Assist with departmental personnel hiring actions to include pulling candidate information, scheduling interviews, building interview folders, and entering interview feedback into the hiring system.
- Assist with budgetary matters to include annual budget prep, encumbrances, track revenues, expenditures and event-specific expenses with related reports.
- Provide back-up services for the office by greeting visitors and answering phones, to include processing outgoing mail, sorting, and delivering incoming mail.
- Attend all appropriate Texas Tech University policy and procedural training sessions and meetings related to HR, procurement and budget systems.
- Participate as a team member to facilitate a smooth-running professional office environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or progressively responsible related experience to equal six (6) years.
Preferred Qualifications
Financial management experience.
Previous administrative experience.
Pay Range
$19.47 - $25.29 - $31.15
