Business Officer
Primary Purpose of Position
The business officer is responsible for independently managing business and financial operations within a department or unit that includes dynamic funding sources and a variety of functional activities. The role applies broad knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and business practices to support organizational operations, interpret and apply established policies and procedures, and contribute to short- and long-term planning.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
CLOE is responsible for developing the university’s leadership talent and providing learning workshops to enhance staff and faculty’s professional capabilities. CLOE also provides consulting support to colleges and functions within the following areas: organizational design, team effectiveness, strategic planning, and culture enhancement.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 4–6+ years of progressively responsible experience with: Advanced Title III funding knowledge and experience; Advanced knowledge of NC A&T procurement and purchasing; Managing dynamic or multi-dimensional funding sources; Financial forecasting and strategic planning; Policy interpretation and implementation; Skilled in the use of LMS technology for course management
