Salary Range: Up to $80,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Business Service Center Manager, under minimal supervision and with use of initiative and independent judgment, directs and oversees the Business Service Center's day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for processing all business transactions and providing various financial, analytical, and business process transactional services to faculty and staff within the area of assigned responsibility. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Business Center. Oversees the completion, accuracy, and timeliness of a variety of complex business transactions, including a combination of accounting (posting/reconciling), budget development and monitoring, personnel, and payroll transactions, purchasing, records management, and other related areas.
- Supervises the Business Center Specialists and student assistants and provides training regarding various business transactions such as: accounting, purchasing and procurement, travel, and reconciliation of accounts. Establishes clear expectations from Business Center staff and prepares annual staff performance evaluations to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
- Establishes system of controls for business process management systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems; establishes methods for capturing, defining, analyzing, and streamlining processes for better delivery of administrative services, data flows, approvals, feedback loops, internal controls, and process execution.
- Ensures documentation and accuracy of business processes, controls that are effective, efficient, and protect data integrity. Coordinates with appropriate functional leads to implement processes that improve data integration and process improvements across all functional areas.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for Department Chairs and faculty on various funding sources: federal, state, local, and private, to ensure compliance with university policies.
- Participates in the implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures related to business process management regarding resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources; communicates and coordinates policies, practices, and procedures with department chairs/managers, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, and other customers.
- Identifies and resolves issues, concerns, discrepancies, problems, and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective procedures.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and ensures the safety of all confidential and sensitive information associated with this role.
- Acts as liaison between departments and internal or external customers; interacts with clients by telephone, electronically or face to face to identify and support their transactional needs/requirements; proactively engages customers through reporting and personal responses; obtains, researches and evaluates all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints; responds promptly to customer inquiries/requests; handles and resolves customer complaints; elevates unresolved issues to the appropriate resources; manages client expectations and provides consistent client updates; keeps records of client interactions, transactions, and actions taken; communicates and coordinates with internal departments as needed to resolve client issues.
- Oversees recruitment and hiring efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel; creates employment requisitions for posting; reviews.
- Ensures timely and accurate processing of all personnel actions in the HRIS, to include, but not limited to, creating and submitting documents/requests via respective institutional systems, in accordance with established University and Human Resources policies and procedures; collaborates closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations and compensation matters.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure the hiring managers work their job postings and find candidates to fill the vacant positions; ensure the onboarding and offboarding processes with the supervisors have been completed.
- Ensures the organization charts are complete and accurate; post monthly in Teams.
- Completes special projects and assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related work experience.
- At the discretion of the department, education and experience may be substituted on a one year for one year basis.
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
- This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Working Conditions
- Office Environment. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary based on the needs of the department. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
