Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
This position will provide both grant and fiscal management of
funds within the Pre-College Program department in Student
Engagement, Enrollment and Retention (SEER).
- Manage the financial and administrative aspects of federal,
state, and external grants supporting Pre-College programs.
Assist Directors with monitoring grant budgets, expenditures,
and available funding to ensure resources are used appropriately
and in accordance with approved grant budgets.
Assist with interpreting grant award terms, sponsor
requirements, University policies, and applicable federal and state
regulations to ensure compliance.
Assist program Directors with grant application budgets, budget
revisions, award modifications, and funding requests.
Coordinate with Directors, Sponsored Programs and Research
Compliance office (SPARC), Budget Development, Advancement, and
other University offices on grant administration, reporting,
compliance, and financial matters.
Assist with preparation of required financial and programmatic
grant reports, including gathering expenditure information,
supporting documentation, and other data required by sponsors.
Track grant reporting deadlines, award periods, deliverables,
matching requirements, and other grant-specific obligations to
ensure timely compliance.
Reconcile grant expenditures and supporting documentation and
identify and resolve discrepancies or potentially unallowable
charges.
Assist with grant award setup, fund establishment, budget
transfers, carryforward requests, and grant closeout
activities.
Maintain organized and accurate grant files and documentation
to support sponsor reporting, monitoring visits, audits, and
internal reviews.
Serve as a resource to Pre-College Program staff regarding
allowable costs, grant restrictions, purchasing requirements,
personnel costs, travel, and other grant-related fiscal
matters.
Assist Pre-College Programs in managing budget reconciliation
reports in coordination with division administrative staff.
Provide support for annual budget preparation, including
conducting historical research and providing data for budget
planning.
Serve as Leave Keeper for the Unit, tracking and managing
employee leave requests.
Process uShop orders and manage travel reconciliations in
Emburse ChromeRiver.
Prepare and manage EPAF (Electronic Personnel Action Forms) for
student employees and temporary staff and process FLAC (Faculty
Load and Compensation) for faculty employees.
Manage AiM (Asset Management System), surplus, and Information
Technology tickets when needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related
discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and
experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately
accredited institutions.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills &
Experience:
- UNC System campus experience as an Admin or similar
position.
- Demonstrated experience with managing grant funds.
- Ability to prioritize, manage and successfully complete
multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft office products,
especially proficient in Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP software such as Banner.
- Demonstrated experience with Works, Emburse ChromeRiver,
PeopleAdmin and other related software.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with evidence of
building collegial relationships.
