Business Systems Analyst, Holistic Health Operations
Position Information:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Administrative Operations, the Business Systems Analyst provides analytical, technical, and project management support for the Holistic Health Division, which encompasses the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Case Management, SWIFT Crisis Mobile Response, and The Well, Health Education and Promotion departments. The incumbent plays a key role in leveraging data and technology to enhance clinical and administrative operations across the division. This position supports the development, implementation, and optimization of health information systems-including Epic and related applications-and ensures that technology solutions align with campus and divisional priorities. The analyst drives data-informed decision-making by designing and maintaining dashboards, compiling and interpreting EMR data, and reporting on health trends, productivity metrics, and service outcomes. Acting as the liaison between Holistic Health and Information Technology Solutions (ITS), the incumbent coordinates system improvements, ensures end-user needs are met, and manages IT-related projects that enhance efficiency, service delivery, and student well-being outcomes.
The full salary range for the Business Systems Analyst, Holistic Health Operations is $75,900 - $137,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $106,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Requirements:
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Requirements
- 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
- Demonstrated experience with Epic or other enterprise EMR systems. Required
- Strong analytical skills and experience in developing data visualizations (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Epic SlicerDicer). Required
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a complex healthcare or university environment. Required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across clinical, administrative, and technical teams. Required
- Experience within a university, student health, or behavioral health setting. Preferred
- Project Management or EPIC certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or equivalent). Preferred
- Experience with SQL, data integration, and dashboard development Preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, and healthcare compliance regulations. Preferred

Minimum Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
- Thorough knowledge of related areas of IT.
- Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.
- In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
- Broad knowledge relating to software design.
- Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applies technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define complex systems scope and objectives with an understanding of applicable business practices, processes, systems and industry standards to meet end-user needs.
